Healthcare is a complex system that is facing a diverse array of challenges in today’s world.

In particular, systems engineering and mathematical optimization are immediately applicable to solving many of these problems. A notable example is the quadratic assignment problem (QAP) that arose from a hospital facility layout challenge. From vaccine development to hospital staffing, MODL has also been contributing to innovative solutions in various aspects of healthcare delivery. Recent and ongoing projects are highlighted below.
